Consigner Information

 

Only horses consigned to the sale are allowed on the grounds.  All horses consigned to the True North Horse Sale are expected to remain in the sale and be offered for sale on May 18th, 2026 in Rossburn, MB.  All horses must go through the sale ring - no alley trading allowed.  The accuracy of all catalogue information is the sole responsibility of the consigner.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I put a reserve on my horse?

Yes anyone can put reserve on their horse.  If the reserve is not met there is a $200 buy back fee.  To place a reserve please contact Sale Manager - Thomasina Duiker (204-859-0212) on the night of the preview or by 10am on sale morning.

How do I sign up to consign horses?

Our buyers understand its cold in Manitoba and our horses have a full coat and some have only been eating all winter - that is ok.  

Email your contact info, sale horse details and a picture to get your consignment in before we fill up.  More pictures and sale video can be sent in later.

Our Sale Team reserves the right to refuse horses that do not fit our sale specifications - horses must be safe and sound for our buyers and for our spectators.

What are rules on registration papers?

All original registrations papers must be submitted with correct signed transfer – no exceptions (horse will be sold as grade if a transfer is not provided).

What happens if my horse doesn’t sell?

If a horse is not sold there is a $200 buy back fee.

What is the consignment cost of each horse?

A catalogue fee is required at time of consigning for horses to enter the sale.  $125 per horse  $250 per team

What is the sale commission on each horse?

The sale commission on all horses is 8%.

Can I stay on the ground or camp in my trailer between preview and sale?

Absolutely

Can I arrive early?

The doors open at 9AM both preview and sale day - canteen and beer gardens open both days.

Will each horse have a tie stall?

All horse consigned to the sale will have access to an outdoor/covered tie stall.  You are required to bring your own feed and bedding.  Water is available.

Will the sale be cancelled for bad weather?

The sale takes place indoors and will not be cancelled for bad weather.

What will be available at the preview?

Our rodeo grounds have a rodeo arena, race track and light horse arena available for your use.  As well the TransCanada trail  runs just west of the ag grounds.  There will be roping cattle at the preview on Saturday for all rope horses entered in the sale.  As well barrels will be set up and a ranch trail course.
