What we stand for.
The True North Horse Sale is committed to a fair and transparent market. All horses sell openly through the auction ring with legitimate bidding only - no outside deals, no private buy-backs and no artifical bidding. We just wanted you to know.
Registration
In person bidders can register for the sale at the information desk, photo id is required.
Bidding Rules
The sale managemnet, auctioneers and employees act as agents for the seller but assume no liability for either the buyer or the seller.
All responsibility and guarantees are between the buyer and the seller.
The highest bidder will be the buyer if the reserve is met or exceeded.
Bids must be in good faith, with buyers assuming full responsibility for payment.
In case of dispute, the horse will be re-auctioned.
Registrations papers will be provided by mail once cheque has cleared. If payment is made by cheque.
Buyer Responsibilities
Buyer s and spectators are advised to exercise caution on the sale grounds especially during horse demonstrations.
ANy person registering is responsible for and liable for their bidding card.
Buyers are responsible for examining horses carefully before bidding (conformation, faults, defects, size, riding ability etc.)
Buyers assume all expense and risks of horses after purchase.
Purchased horses will not be transferred until full payment has been made to the True North Horse Sale.
The True North Horse Sale does not assume responsibility for potential buyers visiting consignors' properties to view or try consignment horses before the sale.

Online bids adhere to the same auction rules as in-person bids.
The True North Horse Sale reserve the right to a 50% preauthorization of the intended purchase price, which will be released if no purchase is made. By agreeing to this preauthorization, you, the bidder/buyer accept full responsibility for payment including a 3% transaction fee and GST immediately following the sale of the horse, Sept.7th, 2026.
Preauthorization amount released back on credit card following the sale if no purchase is made.
Buyer Payment & Fees
Accepted payment methods: Cash, Cheques, Debit or Credit Cards (Visa & Mastercard). A 3% processing fee applies to credit card payments.
GST applies to all purchases.
Purchased horses will not change hands until full payment is received.
