A ranch family is described as a family whose life and livelihood are meaningfully connected to raising, caring for or working with livestock. This may include families who own, operate, manage or work on a cattle ranch, mixed livestock operation or other working ranch. The family does not need to own the land or livestock themselves nor does ranching need to be the family's only source of income. What matters most is that agriculture, livestock and the ranching way of life are a genuine and ongoing part of their family. Nominees whould be facing a significant medical crisis, illness or injury that has created hardship.
All eligible nominations will be reviewed by a carefully selected panel of compassionate and trusted individuals who understand ranching, rural communities and the challenged families can face during a medical crisis. The panel will thoughtfully and confidentially review each nomination and collectively select the family who will receive the proceeds from the True North Horse Sale - Colt Charity (Sept 7th, 2026). The identity of nominees and the personal circumstances shared through the nomination process will be treated with dignity and descretion. The decision will not be based on popularity, the number of nominations received or a family connection to the True North Horse Sale. Every eligible family will be given thoughtful and equal consideration. Only the selected nomination will be contacted. By sending in this form you are agreeing to these terms and conditions.
